Privacy Policy
The short version
- The only personal data we ask for is your email address, and only if you subscribe.
- Privacy-focused visit analytics. No advertising cookies.
- We never sell, rent or share your address for marketing.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
CuratedAI (www.curatedai.net) is run by The Singularity Labs, which is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests go to curatedai.net@gmail.com.
2. What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address, the time you subscribed, the page you subscribed from, and the version of the wording you agreed to | To send the email updates you requested, and record your consent | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time |
| Standard server logs kept by our host: IP address, browser type, pages requested, time | To deliver the site and keep it secure | Our legitimate interest in running a working, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Your light or dark theme choice, stored only in your own browser | So the site remembers it. It is never sent to us. | Strictly necessary for a feature you chose |
We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits, public campaign tags and actions such as opening a build or completing signup. Email addresses and form contents are not sent to analytics. Public campaign tags are remembered in session storage in your browser for up to 30 minutes to attribute navigation and signup to a short. We do not use advertising cookies or build advertising profiles. Aggregate campaign reports may be shared with sponsors; subscriber addresses are not included.
3. Who handles the data for us
We use a small number of service providers, each only for the job described:
- Vercel hosts the website, keeps server logs and processes privacy-focused visit analytics.
- Google (Google Sheets and Apps Script) stores the subscriber list.
- Our email delivery service sends the newsletter to the addresses on that list.
These providers may process data in the United States. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in California law (CCPA/CPRA).
4. Content from other sites
Some pages show images or videos that load directly from the service that hosts them, such as YouTube, Instagram, Reddit or X. When your browser loads one, that service receives your IP address and handles it under its own privacy policy. Every story and build also links out to its original source; once you follow a link, that site's policy applies.
5. How long we keep it
- Subscriber data is kept while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, we remove it from the list within 10 business days.
- Server logs are kept by our host for a short period under its own retention policy.
6. Unsubscribing
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also reply to any issue with the word "unsubscribe", or use our unsubscribe page. Either way, we stop sending within 10 business days, and usually much sooner.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct it, or delete it;
- stop using it, including by withdrawing your consent to the newsletter.
Email curatedai.net@gmail.com and we will reply within one month. We will never treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, the subscriber list is held in a private account, and the address that receives signups is never published. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the data we hold to the minimum, which limits what could ever be exposed.
9. Children
CuratedAI is not aimed at children, and the newsletter is not for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has subscribed, tell us and we will delete the address.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use subscribers' data, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
11. Contact
Email curatedai.net@gmail.com with any question about your data.
