Pixel Pass turns any photo into real pixel art

A free, open-source converter that turns a painting or photo into pixel art on a true low-res grid, with a small palette picked from the picture or from presets like PICO-8 and Game Boy. It runs on device in the browser, on desktop and mobile.

It began as a Python script Claude Code wrote for the creator’s game art pipeline. Claude Code then ported it to a single HTML file, checked both versions gave pixel-identical results, and tested the page in a browser and an Android emulator.
