How Pokémon Red was rebuilt with zero image files
Pokémon Claude Red is a full remake of Pokémon Red with no image files at all. All 151 Pokémon are drawn from shapes in code, across all 224 maps, 8 gyms, the Elite Four and the Champion, playable in a browser or on a phone.
It started from one prompt in Claude Code. Over about 3 days, Claude Opus 5.5 wrote around 25,000 lines of JavaScript, while bots tested every NPC and thousands of battles. Even MissingNo. is rebuilt.
