A $23 DIY robot arm mirrors your motions in real time
A robotics maker built his own leader arm for teleoperation for about 23 dollars, instead of buying a pricier off-the-shelf kit. Using six AS5600 encoders and 608 bearings on a 3D-printed frame, he moves the physical controller and a robot arm on screen mirrors every motion in real time.
Swapping motors for cheap encoders is what drops the cost so far, turning the VLA and teleoperation side of robotics, which usually starts in the hundreds, into a near-free weekend build.
